Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is a cult classic 1974 zombie thriller with a hippie twist. Edna (Cristina Galb'') accidentally hits the motorcycle of George (Ray Lovelock) on a quiet English country road, and offers him a ride into the nearby town where she's due to visit her ailing sister, Katie (Jeannine Mestre). In the nearby farms, scientists are testing an agricultural experiment to wipe out pests, but instead have accidentally brought the dead back to life. When the Inspector (Arthur Kennedy) discovers a gruesome series of violent murders in the area, he initially blames the newcomers because of their hippie attire and attitude. He'll have to put his suspicions aside though, when the flesh-eating zombies appear and force the living to band together in a battle with the undead. Director Jorge Grau brings a moody atmosphere and psychological terror to a classic zombie tale that remains a creepy evening's entertainment on par with "Night of the Living Dead."
