Let's Make It Legal touches upon the eccentricities of divorce and tells the story of a woman, Miriam (Claudette Colbert) and her separation from her husband Hugh (Macdonald Carey), who has a gambling addiction. Their daughter Barbara (Barbara Bates) vehemently wishes for her parents to amend their love and stay together, but things get complicated when a wealthy professional, Victor (Zachary Scott), comes to town and begins to rekindle his former relationship with Miriam. How far will Hugh go to keep his wife, and will she take him back after what they have already been through? It is certainly a tough decision when she has the choice between him and a man who is much more financially stable. Other cast and characters of this 1951 film include Mike Jessup (Carl Savage), Peggy (Vicki Raaf) and Joyce Mannering (Marilyn Monroe), who added much to the movie's popularity with the small role that she plays.
