Lewis Black: Black on Broadway is the angry comedian's first HBO comedy special from 2004. Familiar to audiences from his "Daily Show" segments, as well as appearances on Comedy Central roasts and late-night talk shows, Black's trademark rants have a wide array of targets from the political to the cultural. In this hour-long special, he takes on the Bush White House and its hypocrisy about homeland security, tax cuts for the wealthy and weapons of mass destruction. Always a cultural critic, Black also lambasts the ordinary American and the pop culture obsessions with bottled water and Martha Stewart. He still has plenty of ire left for CEOs that bankrupt their own companies with ridiculous expenses, air travel and even duct tape. Paul Miller directs this live performance at the Brooks Atkinson Theater in New York City. Due to profanity and some adult topics, this film may be best suited to mature audiences.moreless
