Lies & Alibis is a 2006 comedy directed by Matt Checkowski and Kurt Mattila. Ray Elliot (Steve Coogan) is a con man who has discovered his best venture to date: a business that provides cheating spouses with an alibi for their time spent away from home. The business is doing great, so he hires Lola (Rebecca Romijn) as his assistant. When Wendell Hatch (James Marsden), the spoiled son of wealthy client Robert Hatch (James Brolin), comes into his office one day, everything changes. Wendell tells him he accidentally killed a woman he was cheating on his fianc''e with, and Elliot decides to cover for him to save his own name. Soon, Elliot has more problems than he can handle: the police know that he is connected to the murder and are digging for information to use against him; the dead woman's boyfriend (John Leguizamo) is looking for revenge; everyone is plotting against each other, and now he has assassins after him. He asks Lola to help him create a solid alibi to cover this whole mess up, but can they do it in time?
