Lightning Bug is a 2004 drama that was directed by Robert Hall. In the film, Jenny Graves moves herself and her two young sons from Detroit to a small trailer in the South in hopes of bettering all of their lives. Unfortunately, a change in scenery does not provide the family with the instant happiness she expected. She soon has a husband, Earl (Kevin Gage), who has a tendency to beat her and her children. With a hopeless mother and a violent, drunk step-father, Green Graves (Bret Harrison) cannot wait to leave his miserable childhood and the monsters that make it so, behind him. Green is a talented, self-taught special effects make-up artist who makes realistic scary monster masks and has dreams of making it big in Hollywood. Before Green can leave his small town and begin making monsters in Hollywood, he must first deal with the monsters in his hometown.moreless
