Like Mike 2: Streetball is a direct to video sequel to Like Mike. The film was released on June 6th, 2006 and was directed by David Nelson. It does not have any of the cast from the original film or even reference the original film at all. The plot revolves around the young boy Jerome Jenkins Junior who's obsessed with basketball. However he's considered too short, too slow, and too young to play and is often ridiculed by others when he attempts to play. However one stormy night the pint sized Jenkins finds a mysterious pair of abandoned sneakers that once belonged to the basketball legend Michael Jordan. Now whenever little Jenkins wears these old shoes they grant him the magical ability to play basketball with super human prowess! Now Jenkins is the biggest deal in street basketball in the town and his rise seems to have no end. However when his sudden fame begins to distance him from his friends and family it's up to Jenkins to decide just what is most important in his life- basketball or his family and friends?moreless
