Linnea in Monet's Garden (Linnea i malarens tradgard) is a colorful and captivating adaptation of a best-selling children's book by Lena Anderson and Christina Bjork. The story centers around Linnea, a young girl with a great appreciation for art. She leafs through pages of Monet prints with her old neighbor, Mr. Bloom on many occasions. Linnea is ecstatic when she's given the opportunity to travel to Paris and visit the very gardens that inspired Money's paintings. The film offers clear and focused close-ups of many of the artist's most prized works. Linnea in Monet's Garden is an excellent medium by which children may learn about 20th century art. This 29 minute video, directed by the author's of the book themselves, offers just enough subject matter to enlighten children about the beauty and mystery in nature, while keeping them entertained with Linnea's character.
