Liza's at the Palace is a 2009 film that records Liza Minelli's concert in Las Vegas on October 1st, 2009. The concert took place at midnight at the MGM Grand venue and lasted for two hours, allowing Minelli to showcase many of the songs and musical numbers that made her famous. In the first act of the show, Minelli presents songs from her most well-loved albums and movies. The numbers include "Cabaret" and "Maybe This Time" from the film Cabaret, as well as "What Makes a Man a Man," "Basin Street Blues," "I Love A Violin," "My Own Best Friend" and "The Palace Medley." All the songs are presented with Minelli's trademark energy and showmanship, and Liza is often accompanied by backup singers and dancers. In the second act, Minelli takes a slower pace to present a heartfelt tribute to her godmother, Kay Thompson, a Hollywood songwriter and singer during the 1940s.
