Lock-Up: The Case of Joe Slade is an episode of the 50's television show Lock-Up. This show ran from 1959-1961 and always began with the phrase: "These stories are based on the files and case histories of Herbert L. Maris (Macdonald Carey), prominent attorney, who has devoted his life to saving the innocent." The series revolves around Maris fighting for innocent victims who have been unjustly accused, and how he uncovers the facts of each case. This particular episode finds Herbert Maris and Lt. Jim Weston (John Doucette) taking a break to do some fishing. When they arrive at the lake, they find out that their normal fishing guide has been arrested for murdering his wife. They decide to investigate and that brings them in contact with Sheriff Jeremy Davis who was notably played by Lon Cheney Jr. This episode, The Case of Joe Slade, was written by Stuart Jerome, and directed by Jack Hertzberg
