Lockdown is a suspense film from director John Luessenhop about one man trying to make a better life for his family. Avery Montgomery (Richard T. Jones) was a rising star in college swimming, but when his girlfriend Krista (Melissa De Sousa) got pregnant, he dropped out of school to take care of her. He continues to train in swimming while living with Krista and his new son in the projects of Albuquerque, New Mexico. At a local meet Charles (Bill Nunn), a college talent scout, offers Avery a chance at a full scholarship. To celebrate, he has a night out with his childhood friends Dre (De'aundre Bonds) and Cashmere (Gabriel Casseus). On their way home, the police pull them over and find a gun in Cashmere's car. The gun is linked to several murders, and the trio end up in prison as a result. Avery's chance for freedom depends on Charles, who must act quickly before a brutal life in prison ruins any hope for Avery's future.moreless
