London Belongs to Me is a drama film that focuses on the occupants of a building in London. The tenants include landlord Mrs. Vizzard (Joyce Carey), a spiritual medium, Mr. Squales (Alastair Sim), Mr. and Mrs. Josser (Wylie Watson and Fay Compton), their daughter Doris (Susan Shaw) and a young man, Percy Boone (Richard Attenborough). In order to get money and impress Doris (with whom he is in love with), Percy turns to a life of crime. While attempting to steal a car, Percy is caught in the middle of a murder and is accused of the crime. Mr. Josser digs into his retirement fund in order to pay for an attorney for Percy. The trial begins and Mr. Squales is forced to testify against Percy, revealing damaging information about his own life. The trial ends and a verdict is reached.
