Lonely Street is a comedy thriller based on author Steve Brewer's 1999 novel series of the same name. Bubba Mabry makes his living as a detective in Albuquerque, on a crime ridden stretch of Route 66. Bubba is not so much known for his detective skills, but for his gullibility. One day J.G. (Mike Star) approaches Bubba with an offer to protect a reclusive celebrity from enthusiastic fans. Bubba accepts the case and is amazed to find the celebrity he is protecting is Elvis Presley (Robert Patrick). Elvis doesn't need protection from fans, he needs protection from an enthusiastic reporter that is about to break the story that 'The King' is still alive. Things get weirder for Bubba when the reporter is found dead, Elvis and J.G. are long gone, and Bubba is the only suspect in the reporter's murder. Bubba has to summon all of his detective skills to solve the case and keep himself out of jail.
