Lord Love a Duck is a satirical black comedy about a high school student who commits murder as a measure of love for a fellow student. Telling his tale from beyond prison walls is Alan 'Mollymauk' Musgrave (Roddy McDowall), a student at Consolidated High School in Los Angeles, CA. Alan tells us all of Barbara Ann Greene (Tuesday Weld), a fellow transfer student who longs more than anything to be popular. In a pact the two of them make, Alan promises and mysteriously finds the secret to fulfilling all of Barbara Ann's desires. From a dozen cashmere sweaters to a life as a movie star, the enigmatic high school student seems to summon whatever power is needed to fulfill the desires of his adored fellow student, even when the task at hand calls for murder. Famed writer George Axelrod directs this outrageous satire, pulling out all the stops and lampooning everything from teenage beach movies to education to fast food, but mostly taking stabs at American youth culture.moreless
