The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Extended Edition continues the adventure of a young hobbit and his friends who are charged with destroying a magical ring. After the death of Gandalf (Ian McKellen), the Fellowship breaks apart. Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) continue to Mordor, planning to destroy the Ring of Power in the fires of Mount Doom. Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Aragorn (Viggo Mortenson) backtrack towards Fangorn Forest, hoping to rescue Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) from the clutches of the Uruk-Hai. Following that, they must journey to the kingdom of Rohan to assist the forces of King Theoden (Bernard Hill) as they battle the evil armies of Saruman (Christopher Lee). Meanwhile, Frodo and Sam, learn that they are being followed by the ring's former owner, Gollum (Andy Serkis). Though Gollum is able to help them in their journey, Frodo and Sam must be incredibly cautious of him since his true desire is to take back the Ring of Power before it can be destroyed.moreless
