Lost is an adventure drama film directed by Al Adamson that focuses on the preteen Buddy Morrison (Sheila Newhouse), a young girl who is having a hard time adjusting with her new family situation. Buddy’s mother Penny (Sandra Dee) remarried Jeff (Don Stewart) and the blended family moves away from the loud and bustling city to the relatively isolated and natural American West in Utah. The barely put-together shack of a house and the quiet lifestyle does little to warm Buddy up to her new dad. When Buddy finds out her only joy in the mountains, her neighbor’s horse Ned, is dying, she runs off into the forest with her dog Skipper in tow. She ultimately finds herself lost in the mountains, encountering things she never had to deal with before in the city – bugs, steep hills, and cougars! As Buddy finds some help in the form of the crotchety hermit, Mr. Newsome (Jack Elam), Penny, Jeff, and their neighbor Wyatt (Ken Curtis) try to work together in order to find her before something worse gets her and Skipper. Lost is an adventure taking in the beautiful expanses of the Utah lands while exploring the steps a newly joined family takes in order to become whole.moreless
