Lost Battalion is a 1962 movie directed by Eddie Romero. The story takes place in the Philippines during a World War II battle between the Americans and the Japanese. The action begins as the Japanese have the Americans confined on the small island with seemingly no means of escape. Then a Filipino guerilla leader, Ramon (Leopoldo Scaledo), contacts the Americans and offers to help them escape through the jungle to a waiting submarine. Along the way, they encounter a group of bandits that are holding hostage the beautiful Kathy (Diane Jergens). The group manages to free Kathy from her captors and let her travel with them through the jungle. While trying to ward off their enemies, Kathy and Ramon find that they are falling for each other. Although their racial differences make them an unlikely pair for the time, the two of them fall quickly in love. Can Ramon and Kathy's love survive while they try to get the Americans to safety?moreless
