Lost in Beijing is a 2007 film that depicts an unsavory side of modern China. A poor, young couple moves to Beijing in search of a better life; An Kun (Tong Dawei) finds work as a window washer, while his wife Liu Pingguo (Fan Bingbing) works as a foot masseuse. The better life they seek is far from reality, when An Kun witnesses his wife's rape by her boss Lin Dong (Tony Leung Ka Fai). Feeling the injustice of his poverty, and enraged at the assault of his wife, An Kun seeks revenge until both men discover that Liu is pregnant. The childless, middle-aged Lin negotiates to pay An a large sum for the child if the blood test is a match. While Lin grows accustomed to the idea that the child will be his, An cannot help but become attached to the idea of leaving poverty behind him. With every adult having a large stake in the child's paternity, the unexpected results of its birth leave both couples with questions that leave them lost in Beijing.moreless
