Lotto Land is the story of a poor African-American high school senior, Hank (Larry Gilliard, Jr.), who realizes that his life is going nowhere. His friends are paving the path to drug addiction, and the girl he loves will soon leave their run down ghetto neighborhood for college. He decides that will all change once he wins the lottery jackpot, a staggering $27 million dollars. His father, Milt (Wendell Holmes), isn't much help, whiling his time away working for the phone company and wooing his two love interests - a bottle of liquor and Flo (Suzzane Costollos), their neighbor, and mother-figure to Hank's girlfriend. When it comes out that the winning lottery ticket, bought at the local liquor store, hasn't been claimed, the townspeople come together to speculate on who could have won, and what that would mean to their life. Family relationships, budding love interest, and the realization that life isn't always as bad as it seems are brought together in this endearing drama.moreless
