Love Laughs at Andy Hardy is the fifteenth movie in this comedy series set during the time of World War Two. One comic mishap follows another as Andy (Mickey Rooney) comes home from a stint in the army. His family is very excited to see him, but Andy thinks only about his college sweetheart and secretly plans to quickly ask for her hand in marriage. He soon returns to college to reunite with his beloved Kay Wilson (Bonita Granville). He invites her to the school dance but she has to go home for an emergency. Andy's friend sets him up with another date for the dance. This leads to a hilarious dance scene when it turns out that the date is extremely tall while Andy is famously short. Kay returns and tells Andy she is marrying someone else. Heartbroken, he contemplates leaving school and moving to South America. Andy needs a serious talk with his father (Lewis Stone) to set his priorities straight. This is another fun-filled, though bittersweet, episode in the popular series.moreless
