Love Serenade is a peculiar comedic story about two sisters that vie for the affection of a big time radio personality that moves into a small town. For sisters Vicki-Ann (Rebecca Frith) and Dimity (Miranda Otto) Hurley, life in Sunray, their little Australian town, is about as simple as it gets. Vicki-Ann works at the local hair salon, Dimity at the local Chinese restaurant, and if they ever do anything for recreation, it certainly is just as local. So when Ken Sherry (George Shevtsov), who was once the most popular disc jockey at Brisbane's most popular radio station, comes to town, it's an all out war for his affection. With Vicki-Ann scheming on how to score with the has been dj, Dimity scores first, and the girls soon have not only a contest, but a cat fight on their hands. But while their man about town seems like the catch of their lives, he seems to be hiding something, and as they discover more about Sherry, the girls find their mystery man could be even more mysterious than they once thought. Shirley Barrett writes and directs this quirky story of love and affection, filled with countless chuckles from start to finish.moreless
