Lovelife is a 1997 romantic comedy directed by Jon Harmon Feldman. In the film, a group of people in their late 20s explore the dynamics involved with dating in the 1990s. The issues that the movie explores are commitment, jealousy, love, lust, betrayal and the power of friendship. Danny (Matthew Letscher) is a college student who lives with his girlfriend, Zoey (Saffron Burrows). Their relationship seems solid, but there are underlying commitment issues. The next couple, Alan (Jon Tenney) and Molly (Sherilynn Fenn), seem to have the same relationship issues as the first couple. Alan is a very boring college professor, and Molly is very unfocused which frustrates Alan. Amy (Carla Gugino) and Tim (Peter Krause) are also friends of friends who try dating each other. Whether or not any of these people can find a love that will last will depend on their ability to manage all the dynamics that apply to the 1990s dating scene.moreless
