Lovesick is a 1983 romantic comedy directed and written by Marshall Brickman. In the film, Saul Benjamin (Dudley Moore) is a psychologist with a successful practice and a variety of patients that include nymphomanics, anxiety-stricken patients and patients struggling with their sexuality. When his colleague asks him to temporarily counsel a young woman, Chloe Allen (Elizabeth McGovern), he agrees. Chloe's issues seem minimal to most of his other patients, and the doctor is grateful for that. However, soon after beginning their relationship, as doctor and patient, Saul begins to have feelings he does not understand. Confused about what he feels, he does not feel comfortable reaching out to anyone he knows to discuss the situation. When things seem they cannot get any worse, a ghost (Alec Guinness) visits Saul and attempts to warn him and share words of wisdom with him about the situation. Will Saul figure out what to do before it is too late, or will his stubbornness keep him trapped in a terrible situation?moreless
