PG-13
Lucky You, a 2007 drama directed by Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential), tells the story of a man whose luck at the poker table, and at love, may have run out. Huck Cheever (Eric Bana) must raise $10,000 to buy a seat at the World Series of Poker. His estranged father, L.C. (Robert Duvall), has won the World Series twice and is angling for a third win. Unlike his father, Huck is a "blaster," or a reckless better, and has trouble finding a backer. Huck's prospects improve when he meets aspiring singer Billie Offer (Drew Barrymore) and begins to fall for her. However, in a moment of despair, Huck steals money from Billie to fund a poker game. After he loses, he borrows money to cover his World Series entry fee and the cash he stole from Billie, but bad luck continues to follow him. Huck finds himself with one last chance to play at the World Series and, more importantly, to restore his relationships with his father and Billie.moreless
