FILTER BY TYPE

  • Trivia

    • Vincente Minnelli made this film under considerable pressure, as he had also committed to directing a film version of the stage musical Kismet for M-G-M during 1956. He began work on Kismet first, working at far greater speed than usual, but there were various problems and delays during the preparation of Lust For Life (a project of far greater importance to Minnelli) as well as difficulties in the filming of Kismet and there were even periods when he had to shuttle from one production to the other and back again. One upshot of this was that a few days' shooting on Lust For Life were actually directed by an uncredited George Cukor, whilst Stanley Donen directed one scene in Kismet.
