Lynch 2 is the fascinating continuation of Soren Larson's biographical documentary about the acclaimed director. Shot entirely on the set of Lynch's film Inland Empire, Lynch 2 depicts the director, cast, and crew hard at work throughout all aspects of the creative process. There is no narration; the audience becomes the proverbial "fly on the wall", watching Lynch hard at work without intruding. The emphasis is on Lynch, the artist; lengthy clips of the director in action are interspersed with title cards bearing some of his most famous sayings, or "Lynchisms." Other sections of the documentary show never-before-seen clips of Lynch behind the scenes, helping construct complex set pieces and socializing with the film crew. The segments are presented out of chronological order, which further emphasizes the abstract, visionary filmmaking for which David Lynch has become famous.
