Mad About Men is a 1954 love story of a different breed, a sequel to the 1948 story about the mermaid Miranda (Glynis Johns). Miranda can't help falling in love with human men, and in this British comedy she goes chasing after them again. Fortunately for her, she's found a woman who might as well be her twin, Caroline (also played by Johns). When Caroline plans a trip to go and sell her home, Miranda quickly moves to take her place in her home and in society in the hopes of picking up on Caroline's life. Unfortunately, Miranda has other plans for Caroline's life and breaks off her engagement when she falls in love with another guy (Donald Sinden). Miranda is assisted by her little friend who is onto her ruse (Dora Bryan), and ends up getting Miranda into more trouble than she is in already. The result is a topsy-turvy film about love and romance that happens in the most fantastic kind of way as the sea finds its way onto land.moreless
