Mad Money is a 2008 crime comedy starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes. The story concerns Bridget Cardigan (Keaton) as her financial problems escalate when her husband, Don Cardigan (Ted Danson), loses his job. At the suggestion of her housekeeper, Bridget takes a job as a janitor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Bridget convinces Nina (Queen Latifah) and Jackie (Katie Holmes) to join her in a scheme to steal dollar bills that are about to shredded. When the first attempt is successful, the three women are empowered to continue stealing from the Reserve. Once their debts are paid off, Don tries to convince Bridget to stop the scheme, but she refuses. Unfortunately they are tipped off, and before the police can get to their houses, the three women must hide the hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash lying around their houses. Mad Money was both a critical and commercial disappointment.
