MADE is a sports video by British filmmaker Callum Swift, who travels across the world with a camera in hand to capture professionals competing in downhill mountain biking events. In his second feature film, Callum opens with him and his crew boarding a plane, heading out to the Union Cycliste Internationale World Cup. He makes friends with professional riders Steve Peat from Britain, Greg Minnaar from South Africa and Australian rider Sam Hill, who have qualified for the last leg of the downhill championships. Each athlete gives Callum a one-on-one about their alternative lifestyle. Callum then brings his camera up close to capture live action from the final event. Next up, the filmmaker lands in Wales, setting up his crew to film the 2009 British Mountain Biking National Championship. While shooting the downhill event, British rider Gee Atherton and Ben Cathro from Scotland, talk to Callum about the last ten years of competing against each other. MADE also presents the athletes' lifestyles off the mountain, showing the wild parties and somber moments that occur after each event. Callum ends the video with footage from the 2009 Mountain Biking World Championships and the Megavalanche marathon, filming Brendan Fairclough's, Josh Brycel's and Ben Reid's quest for downhill glory.moreless
