Magic in the Water is a family film directed by Rick Stevenson that centers on Ashley (Sarah Wayne), a young ten-year-old girl whose divorced father Jack (Mark Harmon) has devoted his life to his radio show rather with Ashley and her brother Joshua (Joshua Jackson). When Jack decides to take his family on a vacation to a Canadian lake, Ashley learns that the lake is home to a story of a legendary monster called Orky, a creature that has been taking over minds of local men, ultimately changing their lives for the better. Curious after hearing the stories by her neighbor, Uncle Kipper (Frank Salsedo), Ashley seeks out Orky to make her father join their family again. As Ashley and Joshua search for Orky's cave, they discover that the lake is becoming tainted with chemicals and if Orky does exist, he will only be able to survive for so long.
