Make A Wish is a heartwarming, energetic 1937 musical comedy. Young Chip Winters (Bobby Breen) is attending a Maine boys camp over the summer. Lately Chip's peaceful life is feeling more uncertain. His mother, Irene (Marion Claire), is soon going to marry her overbearing fianc'', Walter (Ralph Forbes). While he is at camp, Chip meets the famous but struggling composer Johnny Selden (Basil Rathbone). Chip has a flash of genius and introduces his mother to Johnny. Irene provides the composer with fresh inspiration, but when Johnny asks Irene to become the star performer for his latest song, Walter won't stand for it. Chip won't give up on his plans so easily, however. Together with his friend Pee Wee (Billy Lee) and other campers, Chip invents a creative and hilarious plot to convince Irene and Johnny to form both a professional and a romantic partnership. Along the way there are plenty of unforgettable musical numbers that won the film an Academy Award nomination for Best Music and Score.moreless
