Man from Frisco features the innovative Matt Braddock (Michael O'Shea) as a determined ship builder working in coastal California in the 1880s. Braddock is full of revolutionary ideas on how to build ships and he sets his sights on a future of success and prosperity. Unfortunately for Braddock, his brash behavior and aggressive attitude turn the local community against him as he plans to build a new shipyard in their small coastal town. Braddock is also having some problems getting along with the already established ship builder Joel Kennedy (Gene Lockhart). Kennedy's son Russ (Tommy Bond) sees Braddock as a genius, idolizing his work and ideas. Kennedy's daughter Diana (Anne Shirley), however, sees Braddock as a threat to her father's empire, and doesn't see many of his ideas as plausible or profitable. Complications ensue as Braddock and Diana begin to fall for each other, and their relationship blossoms into a full-blown romantic affair.
