A clairvoyant, Franklin Wills (Joel Grey), contacts police chief Lee Turner (Cliff Robertson). Franklin has been having haunting visions of a crime which he relates in fine detail to Lee. Lee is shocked when he realizes that the clues of Franklin's visions match the details of the unsolved murder of the woman exactly. The details are so well drawn by the psychic, that Lee begins to suspect Franklin of the murder. Franklin continues to trust his gift and help the police even though he may be accused of the crime.
