Marley & Me: The Puppy Years is a 2011 family comedy prequel directed by Michael Damian. Bodi Grogan (Travis Turner) lives with his very serious grandfather, Frank (Donnelly Rhodes). More than anything, Bodi would like to be the proud owner of a puppy dog, but his grandfather will not allow it. When his aunt and uncle go on vacation and need a dog sitter for their Golden Retriever puppy, Marley, Bodi eagerly volunteers. Although his grandfather is not happy about the situation, he agrees to allow Bodi to care for the pup. Bodi has devised a plan, which includes a group of his friends and their dogs, to prove to his grandfather that he can handle a puppy. However, taking care of rambunctious Marley proves more difficult than he initially anticipated. Will Bodi handle dog sitting well, or will he confirm to his grandfather that he is not ready for a puppy?
