Marley & Me tells the story of the relationship between a family and their chronically misbehaving Golden Retriever, Marley. The film opens with married journalists, John Grogan (Owen Wilson) and Jenny Grogan (Jennifer Aniston) moving to Florida to begin new jobs at separate newspapers. At the suggestion of co-worker Sebastian Tunney (Eric Dane), John decides to adopt a dog and settles upon a puppy that he names Marley. Quickly it becomes clear that the rambunctious dog is going to need some training since he constantly tears up the house whenever John and Jenny are away. They take him to a strict dog expert named Ms. Kornblut (Kathleen Turner) but Marley proves to be too much for her to handle. Not sure of what to do, John begins writing a column for the newspaper about his wild and destructive dog and it immediately becomes a huge hit. As time passes, Marley continues inflicting his destructive ways upon the family, but they also realize that he has become a real and beloved member of their family.moreless
