Match Point is a 2005 drama/thriller film written and directed by Woody Allen. Chris Wilton (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) takes a position teaching tennis at a posh London club after he decides to retire as a professional tennis player. He ends up befriending one of his students, Tom Hewett (Matthew Goode), who in turn introduces him to his sister Chloe (Emily Mortimer). Chris and Chloe quickly fall into a relationship, and Chris discovers that he definitely likes the monetary and status benefits that come with dating her. Things seem to be progressing well and her family seems to accept him. The subject of marriage is brought up. Then he meets Tom's fianc''e, Nola Rice (Scarlett Johansson), a struggling American actress. Chris and Nola are definitely attracted to each other, but neither one of them wants to lose what they already have. Their affair ends up taking them down a violent path that neither one of them could ever imagine, and changes their lives profoundly.moreless
