Material Girls is a 2006 teen comedy directed by Martha Coolidge. In this film, Tanzania "Tanzi" (Hilary Duff) and Ava Marchetta (Haylie Duff) are wealthy sisters who enjoy the finer things in life. Tanzi and Ava enjoy this lifestyle due to their late father's cosmetics fortune. Unfortunately, when a media scandal surrounding one of their father's products erupts, the sisters find all their assets frozen. The heiresses suddenly find themselves without any money at all and their futures are at risk. As they try to adjust to their new situation, things only gets worse when the family home catches on fire. Their father's advisors encourage them to sell to the company's biggest competitor, Fabiella (Angelica Huston). This sale would allow the sisters to return to their lavish lifestyles, but it would mean giving up the legacy their father worked his entire life to build. What will the material girls decide to do?
