Maze is a film following Maze (Rob Morrow), a painter and sculptor working in New York. Maze suffers from Tourette's syndrome and has developed a thick emotional armor to protect himself from hurt and pain. The armor has also kept him from feeling love and joy. His best friend Mike (Craig Sheffer) has encouraged Maze to try new drugs that could help control the physical tics and loud outbursts but Maze is reluctant because he worries it could affect his artistic vision and talent. Mike has joined Doctors Without Borders and will be in Africa for seven months and is leaving his girlfriend Callie (Laura Linney) in New York. She's recently learned she's pregnant but doesn't want to force Mike to stay. After Mike has left, she tells Maze about her condition and he helps coach her through childbirth classes. As he helps Callie plan for the baby, he finds himself falling in love with his best friend's girlfriend. In addition to playing the lead role, Morrow also directed the 2000 romantic drama.moreless
