Men To Boys is a 44 minute documentary film that examines the nature of father/son relationships in African-American families. Studies show that 82% of children born to African-American fathers since 1990 do not have daily contact with them, a troubling trend in the eyes of producer/director Janks Morton. He interviews prominent black men like Congressman Elijah E. Cummings and NFL player Daniel Wilcox, who sounding off about how to change this, and the various ways in which young black men develop certain traits, depending on how much paternal contact they receive. Not so much to point a finger, but to point out tendencies and patterns, Morton employs the use of group seminars with groups of black youth, trying to get them to look inwardly at what kind of men they are becoming. It's all about change in Men To Boys, a poignant, thought provoking documentary feature that presents solutions and ways to turn away from the current path and reinvent the role of fathers and sons in the African American community.moreless
