Miami Vice is a 2006 American crime drama film based on an adaptation of the 1980s series also titled Miami Vice. The film was directed by Michael Mann. In the film two Miami-Dade police officers, Ricardo Tubb (Jamie Fox) and Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell), are busy fulfilling their responsibilities as Miami-Dade's finest, when they receive a phone call from a former informant in desperate need of help. The informant claims his family is in danger, and because he feels he can trust no one besides Ricardo and Sonny, the detectives are unwittingly thrown into a complicated situation. Two federal agents have been brutally murdered and they must now go undercover in the world of drug trafficking to try to solve the murders. The situation gets worse for the two detectives as they develop interpersonal issues between each other, romances bud in unlikely places and the families of the detectives are in danger.
