Midnight Run is a 1988 action adventure comedy starring Robert Di Nero and Charles Grodin. Jack Walsh (Di Nero), a former cop turned bounty hunter is sent to bring bail jumper Jonathan 'The Duke' Mardukas (Grodin) from New York to Los Angeles. FBI agent Alonzo Mosely (Yaphet Kotto) warns Walsh off the case. The Feds plan to arrest Mardukas to gain information on his boss, suspected mobster Jimmy Serrano (Dennis Farina). Walsh underhandedly agrees. Serrano also wants The Duke, because he stole millions of dollars from him. The nervously unpredictable Mardukas makes life miserable for the much-beleaguered Walsh as the bounty hunter tries getting him cross-country. The pair thwarts thugs sent by Serrano. Later, they clash with rival bounty hunter Marvin Dorfler (John Ashton), hired by Serrano to catch Mardukas. Dorfler captures Mardukas and attempts to blackmail Serrano, but fails. Serrano's men grab The Duke. FBI agent Mosley and Walsh join forces in a sting operation to bust Serrano at an airport in Las Vegas. Afterwards, Walsh has permission to transport Mardukas on to Los Angeles.
