Mighty Joe Young is the story of a baby gorilla and a little girl who grow up together and form a life long bond. Deep in the jungle, a group of poachers kill a gorilla and a female zoologist. The gorilla that is killed has a baby, named Joe. The zoologist also has a child, named Jill (Charlize Theron). Over a decade later Joe has grown into a 15-foot tall, one ton gorilla and Jill is now a young woman, living in the jungle and still helping the gorillas. One day a professor named Gregg O'Hara (Bill Paxton) visits the jungle to investigate a myth about a giant gorilla protecting the mountain. The professor meets Joe and Jill and, not too long after that, poachers come and try to kill Joe. O'Hara convinces Jill that it is not safe in the jungle and that she and Joe should leave with him. As they come to find out, their newfound environment is not as safe as they once thought. What will happen to Joe in captivity? Will Jill be able to help him?moreless
