Mike Epps: Under Rated & Never Faded is a 2009 DVD from the American stand-up comedian, actor, writer and rapper. The main feature on the DVD is a stand-up set performed in front of a carnivalesque crowd in Detroit at the height of the recent economic downturn. Epps is a very well-regarded comic, and has starred in many movies and TV shows. Epps' comedy deconstructs the perennial everyday issues of life and love, but he is at his most incisive and amusing when he tackles topical social and political issues. In this Detroit Special he takes aim at both race relations and the economic woes of his audience, as well as America's first black president. Gritty but never dour, Epps wants to give his audience a party and the raucous crowd clearly appreciates it. The set lasts 70 minutes and the DVD includes as a bonus feature a backstage interview with its star.
