Miles Davis: Cool Jazz Sound is the performance documentary which shows a concert from jazz legend Miles Davis. Born in 1926 in Illinois, Davis began his musical studies at age 13, when he got his first trumpet. Getting lessons from local musician Elwood Buchanan, Miles became a professional player by age 16. Throughout the rest of his life he became one of the most innovative and influential musicians ever, innovating in every movement of jazz while also having a profound influence on rock. Cool Jazz Sound documents one of his concerts from 1959, performing with his famed quintet which included John Coltrane, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb.
