Million Dollar Mystery is a 1987 comedy adventure film in the same ilk as Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Sidney Preston (Tom Bosley) is a White House aide who has stolen $4 million of the government's money. While on the run, he stops to get some chili and dies of a heart attack. Just before he passes away, he reveals the location of the first part of his stolen treasure. Upon hearing this news, the people eating at the diner set out on an adventure to find this hidden money. After losing the first million, they follow clues to the second, and so on. The film invites watchers to look for the million dollars as a promotional tool for the release of the film. The film features an ensemble cast including Rich Hall, Kevin Pollack, Royce D. Applegate, Penny Baker, Mack Dryden, and Wendy Sherman.
