Miracle on 34th Street is a treasured Christmas Classic. The real Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) happens upon a drunk, 'fake' Santa during a Thanksgiving Day Parade. Wanting to keep up Santa's good reputation, the real Kris Kringle takes the Santa spot in the parade. He does such a great job he is hired at a department store, where he confides in children and parents that he IS the real Santa. These statements are taken for words of a crazy person and Kris Kringle is sent to a mental hospital. After winning the heart of child, Susan (Natalie Wood) and her neighbor Fred Gailey (John Payne), who happens to be an attorney, they decide to defend him and get him out. Although Susan had been skeptical at first, she and Fred present their case and their proof that Santa Claus really does exist. Also starring Maureen O'Hara as Susan's mother, Doris.moreless
