The Missing is a harrowing western thriller set in 19th century New Mexico, directed by celebrated filmmaker Ron Howard. Samuel Jones (Tommy Lee Jones) returns to his daughter's ranch, hoping to reconcile their relationship. His daughter, Maggie (Cate Blanchett), refuses. During her childhood, Samuel left his family to find his Native American roots, abandoning her and her mother. Her mother was forced into a hard life in the New Mexico territories, and died soon after. When Maggie's daughter, Lilly (Evan Rachel Wood), is kidnapped, the U.S. Cavalry refuses to search for her. Their forces are preoccupied in the forced relocation of Native American people, and can't be bothered to search for a lone girl. The only people are willing to track down the kidnappers are her father and younger daughter, Dot (Jenna Boyd). Maggie is forced to reconcile her differences with her father if she ever wants to find her daughter.
