2007
Rating:

Missionary Man brings Ryder (Dolph Lundgren) to a small Texas town to attend the funeral of his old friend J.J., a Native American carpenter who supposedly drowned swimming in a river. J.J.'s children, son Junior (John D. Montoya) and daughter Kiowa (Chelsea Ricketts), don't believe the official story. J.J. was a member of the tribal council and was opposed to the construction of a state-of-the-art casino. The venture would provide jobs and revenue for the tribe, but J.J. also saw a number of negative impacts on the tribe and backed an online gaming proposal. Local businessman John Reno (Matthew Tompkins) has a large stake in the casino proposal. As Ryder begins to over stay his welcome in the town, he begins to think Reno may have had more to do with J.J.'s death than the official report suggests. Now, Ryder must fight a powerful enemy who seems to have the town under his thumb. Lundgren not only stared in the 2007 drama, but also wrote and directed the film.moreless
