Mississippi Delta Blues is a film about the blues singer James "Son" Thomas (1926-1993). "Son" was the last of the real thing. He learned to play the blues while picking cotton and did the devil's work. When asked "Do you play any gospel?", "Son" replied, "I use to play a little gospel. You working for the Devil on the blues lines... and you working for God on the Gospel... and you won't want to cross that up.
