Mister Foe is a 2007 drama that blends romance and mystery. Hallam Foe (Jamie Bell) is an unusual young man with unusual hobbies. He spies on his neighbors, landing him in constant trouble. His obsession with other people helps Hallam ignore the tragedy of his mother's suicide and her replacement by his stepmother Verity (Claire Forlani). Hallam blames Verity for his mother's death, and after the tensions between the two reach a breaking point, the troubled teenager takes off for London. It is in London that Hallam meets the woman of his dreams. Kate (Sophie Myles) works at a hotel and is an ordinary young woman, except for her strong resemblance to Hallam's lost mother. Before long, Hallam is working at the same hotel and embarking on an unusual affair with Kate. The two develop genuine feelings for each other, but soon it becomes clear that if Hallam cannot move past his grief and gain maturity, he may never know true happiness.moreless
