Monster House is a 2006 American animated family comedy fantasy film, directed by Gil Kenan. Young DJ (Mitchell Musso) has been observing the house across the street for quite a while. Something about it, and its cranky owner Nebbercracker (Steve Buscemi), freaks DJ out. But when Nebbercracker dies of a sudden heart attack, DJ thinks the danger is over. What he does not know is that the house has its own plans—to eat all the children that come trick-or-treating on Halloween! Now it is up to DJ, along with friends Chowder (Sam Lerner) and Jenny (Spencer Locke), to save the day. Which is a little harder than it sounds, since it turns out to be quite difficult to convince grown ups that there is a carnivorous house across the street. Monster House was nominated for an Oscar at the 2007 Academy Awards, and received 15 other nominations, as well as 2 wins, for everything from its soundtrack, to its voice actors, to its script.moreless
